Can Mountain Week for Habitat for Humanity

Third graders were tasked with finding out just how many cans were in the boxes in a big pile in the middle of the classroom.  You can see the dismay on the children's faces as they grappled with the magnitude of their task.  It required planning, teamwork, arithmetic, and lots of cooperation,  but they did it!  They counted 424 cans and then moved them into the giant plastic bag and together we took them to the trailer.  As a class, we came in second place!
