Purpose of Invent Iowa:

     The purpose of Invent Iowa is to encourage the development of problem solving skills.  Students are asked to identify a problem and create a reasonable solution.  

     These high level thinking skills are honed while solving any number of problems encountered in the invention process. 

     A secondary, but very important purpose, is the student learning how to elicit help from older siblings or a supportive adult.  Guidance is a key aspect of this process.

      Bonus!  Belin/Blank is holding the state Invent Iowa this year.  Our regional event is the first step in this process.  Ask some former inventors about this opportunity!
